UNMASK THE SCHOLAR IN YOU!
Scholars of the Ateneo gathered together as they celebrated the second year of Scholars’ Friendship Day (SFD) on February 20, which highlighted two main events: the Scholars’ Lounge and Scholars’ Night.
For the whole day, scholars were asked to wear or use free masquerade masks while they were in the campus. The said masks also served as tokens.
During the day, MVP 211 became the lounge, not only for the scholars but also for some non-scholars. Movies were shown and food was served. Aside from refreshments, scholars and non-scholars participated in activities and games. Some of the activities were mask-making, amazing race, selfie contest, human-bingo, etc. Winners received their prizes for chosen activities.
Performances and more games filled the Scholars’ Night held at the University Dorm Basement. MEAcapella opened the night with their version of “Rather Be” and “Geronimo”. Rocky Deleste followed MEAcapella’s performance with another round of songs which made the scholars request for more. Some scholars also received food stubs from Office of Admission and Aid and gift certificates from Max’s as prizes.
Aside from the celebration of friendship among the scholars, recognition of the Scholar Support Groups’ facilitators took place during the night. Winners for the Amazing Race, Mask-making competition, Selfie and Tweet contests were also given recognition.
The celebration ended with a group photo and taking-off of the masks. The night was hosted by Pocholo Espina and Carl Cervantes. The whole event was made possible by co-presenter SMART.
